The perks of being a wallflower

Stephen Chbosky

Since its publication, Stephen Chbosky’s haunting debut novel has received critical acclaim, provoked discussion and debate, grown into a cult phenomenon with over three million copies in print, spent over one year at #1 on the New York Timesbestseller list, and inspired a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a story about what it’s like to travel that strange course through the uncharted territory of high school. The world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. Of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

The perks of being a wallflower explains how the first year of high school is for Charlie, a fifteen-year-old teen with an estrange way to behave and actually the main character. The whole book is about letters which Charlie send to some mysterious person and how he starts to mature while hanging out with his new friends.

    Opinó personal:
I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who wants to have a good time, likes drama books and its english level is good enough to afford it.
It's just amazing how, in some scenes, the things that happen to Charlie and his friends speak to you.
Sum up, when you start the book, it's a non-stop-reading until you reach the astonishing end. It's totally worth it.
