The call of the wild

Jack London
Buck, a powerful dog, half St. Bernard and half sheepdog, lives on Judge Miller’s estate in California’s Santa Clara Valley. He leads a comfortable life there, but it comes to an end when men discover gold in the Klondike region of Canada and a great demand arises for strong dogs to pull sleds. Buck is kidnapped by a gardener on the Miller estate and sold to dog traders, who teach Buck to obey by beating him with a club and, subsequently, ship him north to the Klondike.

This book talks about a dog, Buck. He is very strong dog and lived in the House with a rich man. But, one day, a servant of the House did a bet, a very big bet. Desafortunately, the servant lost the bet, and he decided to sell Buck for pay the bet. The servant sold Buck and the persons who bought Buck bring them to the Alaska, and there Buck did very, very hard jobs.

    Opinió Personal:
This book is a bit difficult to understand, because there are lots of difficult vocabularies.
However, this book is very interesting to know, because it’s like you are inside of the history.
The characters are described with a lot of precision.
I would recommend this book to people who like read in English and like the adventures.

It's a book about a big strong dog which is sold by the gardener of a very rich house, who likes the gambling but of course he didn't always win so he need money and for this reason he sold Buck. Next he is sent to Klondike to pull a seld with supplies like food, clothes, mail... To people who live next to the goldfields because they are insulated. When he arrived in Klondike he learn how to survive to the low temperatures, and how to fight to survive to the other dogs and the wolfs. Then when he meet the new owner he has a special relationship with him because, he appreciates a lot the dog, and knows how he feel.

    Opinió personal:

The book it's easy to understand but there are some words that are a bit difficult. I think that is an interesting book because the main character is a dog and I'll recomend it to people how like the adventure stories and animals stories.
